The judicial branch’s budget is getting slashed and vacancies are not getting filled. The issue is not getting better.  Court dates are harder to come by, fees increase substantially as cases drag on, alternative dispute methods–such as arbitration and judge pro tempore--increase costs even more. Justice is not served.

Write letters or emails to the state legislators urging the funding and filling of these judicial vacancies. Of the ten vacant Circuit Court positions, the 9th Judicial Circuit judges hear the 5th most cases per judge. These disputes damage the citizens of our judicial circuit. We operate under the rule of law, but if our citizens cannot get ready access to the courts, then a fundamental premise of our judicial system fails.
